About ECSSA

The search and selection business in Europe is facing constant changes with opportunities and threats. As a consequence search and selection firms have made a remarkable work to adapt their offers, tools and methodology to cope with new demands from their clients. But, along with those evolutions, the range of offers in the recruitment industry (CV vending, success fee, retainer, in house recruitment...) has become so wide that clients have sometimes difficulties to differentiate the commitments, the quality and added value between them.

In this context, professional associations are doing an excellent job in demonstrating the added value of national search and selection consulting firms and implementing codes of practice to comply with local regulation and ethics.

In addition ECSSA, a European network of seven national associations, has managed successfully to:

  • raise standards through a consultant certification process with already 200 certified consultant
  • provide a business indicator (ECSSA State of Industry Barometer), that gives a quarterly trend to managers
  • promote cross fertilization within Europe with valuable initiatives coming from associations (Consultant training program, Ethics committees..)
